Egg

The first stage in the life cycle of salmon is egg. The egg is about the size of a pea. It is soft and orangish-pink-red color. The egg has two black eyes. The eggs need cold water and shade. They are laid by the female in a redd. Trees along the stream provide shade to the water and to help stop erosion. Eggs are cool.
